Great White Shark Expeditions to the Farallon Islands off of San Francisco
"Venture Ye not to the edge of the chart,
for here there be Monsters." ~ Ancient Map
Great White Shark Expeditions offers the best eco tour San Francisco has to offer... Shark Watching at the Farallon Islands!

We venture out to the Gulf of the Farallones in search of monster Great Whites from late July through the New Year holiday or later, whenever the weather is right. The population of White Sharks appears to be growing, and visiting the "Shark Triangle" for a longer season each year. September through November are considered peak season.

With Great Whites at the top of the food chain, the waters around the Farallon Islands are home to one of the largest underwater ecosystems of the planet, teaming with marine life including fish, birds, and the mammals that are food for sharks.

Shark watching boats for smaller groups up to six, and larger groups to forty or more are available for private charters and open space reservations.

We arrange trips for every day of the week, with advanced reservations over the entire shark season (and next season).

Please send an email with your contact information, the high and low number of guests that you expect, and the date range and preferences for when you would like to go.

We'll do everything we can to get you out to the islands to see our sharks.

You should consider earlier reservations so that you have a chance to delay if the weather is bad.

We visit the Farallones to see the incredible variety of wildlife found there year-round, or passing through during seasonal migrations.

Some of the mega fauna we might find:

  • Blue Whales (sometimes by the dozens)
  • Grey Whales (family pods to 10 or more)
  • Humpback Whales (acrobats of the sea)
  • Orcas (family groups of Killer Whales)
  • Dolphins (sometimes by the thousands)
  • Leatherback Turtles

And of course, the favorite food of our sharks:

  • Elephant Seals
  • Sea Lions
  • Fur Seals

Of course, we see lots of other marine life from various fish to jelly fish to a massive volume of pelagic birds including puffins and a couple of rare species of albatross.

Welcome
